Life sometimes has its challenges, and I am here to help you navigate. As a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, I am here to help. In therapy, we will focus on gaining insight and making meaning of your personal experiences. By processing past events and current stressors, we can find new ways to help you approach and understand your world. I will assist you in finding relief from current symptoms and challenges, and work with you to find meaning and purpose in your life so that you can reach your goals.
With more than 10 years of experience in the mental health field, I have a passion for empowering and providing therapeutic services to children, adults and families. I embrace cultural diversity and have a strong background in trauma-informed care. One niche I specialize in is working with clients who are dealing with toxic relationships. I completed a master’s degree in Human Services/Mental Health Counseling and a bachelor's degree in Global Business Management. I’m currently pursuing an MBA/Marketing degree.
I have expertise in working with clients experiencing toxic relationships. During the pandemic, many couples have spent an unprecedented amount of time together. For some, it’s been a comforting gift to be with their partner. For others, it’s strengthened unhealthy emotional patterns. In cases where one or both partners were raised in traumatic family situations, pain from those early trauma bonds may be resurfacing, creating a toxic relational stew. Participating in trauma-bond work can bring unhealthy dynamics into awareness. With awareness comes the opportunity to make changes and break patterns.
I believe it is very important to build rapport with clients while creating a respectful and meaningful therapeutic relationship. Some therapeutic techniques I use are Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness/Stress Reduction Techniques, Coping Skills, Psychoeducation, along with other techniques. A respectful therapeutic relationship is at the core of change and healing, and I strive to foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally sensitive space.
